Manchester United have already secured the signing of a versatile
midfielder by capturing Brazilian star Fred from Ukrainian club Shakhtar
Donetsk.
If reports in the media are anything to go by then the Red Devils
could agree deal to sign another midfielder in the form of French
international and Lyon star Tanyguy Ndombele.
According to renowned French source Le10Sport, Manchester United would like to recruit the 21-year-old player, who is valued at around €50million by the Ligue 1 club. Read: Done – Manchester United have agreed £45.5million deal
Like Fred, Ndombele is a versatile player who can play anywhere in
the midfield. Naturally, he is a creative central midfielder but at
times, Lyon utilized him in the defensive midfield role as well. At Old
Trafford, Matic is the main holding midfield star.
In the last campaign, the former Amiens midfielder featured in 35
league games for Lyon and provided 8 assists to help them qualify for
the next season’s Champions League.
As per the provided Le10Sport link, the likes of Tottenham and Paris
Saint-Germain are also interested in hiring the services of the Les
Bleus player.
Carrick retired after last season with United and we know that
Fellaini’s contract with the Red Devils will expire in a few days.
Therefore, Mourinho must reinforce the quality and depth in the center
of the park.

Manchester United's newest signing Fred has shown fans what they can expect from him when he finally arrives at Old Trafford.
The 25-year-old was finally announced as a United player this week and admitted he can't wait to get playing for the club.
And the fans will be excited about what he can bring given the latest footage to come out of Brazil training.
The
midfielder was taking part in a session with his international team
mates before their final group game against Serbia on Wednesday when he
he curled in a brilliant left footed shot in to the top corner.
Fred
has yet to feature for Brazil in the tournament, been named as an
unused substitute in their draw against Switzerland and the win against
Costa Rica.
Fred was finally announced as a United player last week after
a delay to his transfer as personal details were finalised and a work
permit was obtained.
The 25-year-old, who is part of Brazil’s
World Cup squad, said: “This is the biggest club in the world and I am
delighted to be a part of this amazing team.
“To work with Jose Mourinho, who has won so many trophies in his time as a coach, is an opportunity not to be missed. Is Manchester United signing Fred actually any good?
“I cannot wait to get started and to meet my new teammates.
“I would like to thank everyone at Shakhtar Donetsk for everything they have done for me over the past five years.

Chiori Johnson’s transfer from Arsenal has been confirmed by Bolton Wanderers after he passed a successful trial. The 20-year-old was on his way out of the Emirates this summer after being named on Arsenal’s released list that was submitted to the Premier League, but it didn’t take him long to find a new club.
The versatile defender impressed while on trial in Bolton’s u23s and has earned himself a permanent deal. He signed
his first professional contract at Arsenal in 2015 and went on to make
40 appearances at youth level. Johnson will bring steel to the Bolton
backline as a combative player, while also being comfortable in
possession.
With Hector Bellerin ahead of him in the Arsenal first-team, Johnson
never stood a chance of featuring for the senior squad, but it’s not too
farfetched a suggestion for the youngster to play in the Premier League
in the future. Bolton finished one place above the relegation zone in
the Championship last season so they’re only one division away from
Arsenal.
Watford
have reached an agreement to sign midfielder Gerard Deulofeu from
Barcelona for an initial €13 million, the Spanish club have announced.

Watford have signed former Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu from Barcelona, the Spanish champions have confirmed.
The 24-year-old spent the second
half of last season on loan at Vicarage Road, scoring once in seven
Premier League appearances for the Hornets.
Deulofeu will now return to
Hertfordshire on a full-time basis after Barcelona announced a deal
worth an initial €13 million had been agreed.
Announcing the deal on their
website, Barcelona said in a statement: “FC Barcelona and Watford FC
have reached an agreement for the transfer of Gerard Deulofeu to the
English club.
“They have agreed on a fee of €13
million, plus €4 million in variables. FC Barcelona will also receive a
percentage of any future transfer operations to other clubs.”
A product of Barcelona’s academy,
Deulofeu struggled to break into the first team at the Nou Camp and was
loaned out to Everton in 2013.
He was a hit under Roberto Martinez
at Goodison Park and, following a loan stint at Sevilla the following
term, was signed permanently by the Toffees in summer 2015.
All did not go to plan on
Merseyside and in January 2017 the player was loaned to AC Milan, where
some strong performances convinced Barca to take up their buy-back
option with Everton.
Establishing himself in Catalonia
again proved impossible, however, and Deulofeu was farmed out to
Watford, who on Monday expressed their delight at having clinched his
services on a permanent basis.
“We are very pleased to welcome
Gerard back to Vicarage Road and thank FC Barcelona for their part in
concluding this deal,” Watford chairman Scott Duxbury told the club’s website.

According to Sky Sports, Manchester United will complete a deal with Shakhtar Donetsk for Fred in the next seven days. The Red Devils previously announced
on their club website that they had agreed a deal for the Brazilian
midfielder and that a further announcement will be made soon, but his
work permit application is still being processed and should be confirmed
in the coming days.
United’s impending signing will play for Brazil at the 2018 World Cup this summer but is carrying an ankle injury.
The 25-year-old picked up the knock after a tackle from teammate
Casemiro, but head coach Tite game a positive update to allay fears from
supporters. The last thing United would want is their £53m man coming to Old Trafford with an existing injury.
Fred is expected to be a regular alongside Paul Pogba and Nemanja
Matic in midfielder next season, providing more defensive protection to
allow creative freedom to Pogba, so Mourinho will be hoping the
Brazilian national team are taking care of him. There shouldn’t be an
issue with his work permit, but the World Cup in Russia will likely mean
he’ll return to pre-season training late this summer...click here to continue

Arsenal have agreed a fee with Sampdoria to sign midfielder Lucas Torreira this summer, according to reports.
The Gunners have identified the Torreira, the Uruguay international,
as a top target this summer as new boss Unai Emery looks to bolster his
squad following his appointment as manager of the north London club.
Torreira has emerged as one of the finest young midfielders in Europe Torreira,
22, has a release clause of £22m (€25m) but, according to Sport
Mediaset, Arsenal have agreed to pay slightly over the required amount,
splashing out £26m (€30m) on him.

Under those terms, the Gunners are able to spread the cost of the
transfer fee over a number of years, rather than paying it all up front
now.
The signing of Torreira will be seen as a major coup for Arsenal, who want to bring in a new central midfielder this summer, as he’s regarded as one of the finest young players in the game.
The 22-year-old is preparing to represent Uruguay at the World Cup
Torreira had held talks with Borussia Dortmund and other top European
clubs, but he is keen to head to north London and join the Premier

Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur join West Ham United in race for Barcelona midfielder Rafinha
Tottenham Hotspur are set to enter the
race for Barcelona academy product Rafinha Alcantara according to
reports from Spanish outlet Sport. The midfielder is also a target for Spurs’ London rivals West Ham United.
Rafinha, brother of Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara, came through the famed La Masia
academy of Barcelona, but has been deemed surplus to requirements at
the Camp Nou by the Catalans and is on the lookout for a new club.
The 25-year old spent the second half of
the 2017/18 campaign out on loan with Serie A side Inter Milan and
impressed heavily during his spell with the Nerrazzurri. He
went on to make 17 appearances for the club, scoring 2 goals and setting
up three more, helping Inter to a return to the UEFA Champions League
next season.
The Italians had an option to make the
deal a permanent one for a fee of €35 million, but are understood to be
reluctant in meeting that figure, which has opened up an avenue for
other clubs to swoop in.
Tottenham are understood to be seeking
reinforcements in the middle of the park ahead of the next campaign,
with midfield mainstay Mousa Dembele’s future at the clear still
shrouded under doubts.

And manager Mauricio Pochettino doesn’t
want to go into the next campaign unprepared and has identified Rafinha
as someone who could bolster the ranks a great deal as the North
Londoners look to put up a strong Premier League title bid.
However, they are not the only club interested in the 25-year old’s services as fellow Londoners West Ham United are also hot on their heels in the pursuit of the midfielder.
Newly appointed manager Manuel Pellegrini is keen to revamp the
midfield department at his new club and views Rafinha as a quality
addition with his proven pedigree and versatile nature.
Moreover, Tottenham’s pursuit of the
midfielder is also likely to get complicated because of Barcelona’s
interest in Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen. Ernesto Valverde is intent on bringing the Spurs star to the Camp Nou next season and could use their interest in Rafinha as a bargaining chip to sign the Dane in the summer.
Rafinha, who has been capped two times
by the Brazil national team, has featured 79 times for Barcelona and has
netted 11 times, while laying on 8 assists. He is contracted to the Blaugrana till the summer of 2020, but his spell at the Camp Nou certainly seems to be nearing its end...continue

Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere reportedly set to join Crystal Palace
According to a number of surprise reports across social media this afternoon, Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is closing in on a move to Crystal Palace.
Fitness struggles
Wilshere’s injury troubles over the course of his career have been widely covered in the press, with a string of lengthy spells on the sidelines having held the technically-gifted star back from a potentially top-class career.
Following a nightmare campaign during which he managed just 3 Premier League appearances for the Gunners in 2015/16, Wilshere was sent out on loan to Bournemouth last season.
He managed a respectable 27 league outings with the Cherries, but a hairline crack in his calfbone in April ruled the marauding midfielder out until August.
Return to form
Despite being heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates last summer, Wilshere surprisingly remained in North London, with his impressive early-season performances in the Carabao Cup and Europa League having led to a Premier League recall for the Englishman.
And Wilshere since went on to play a key role for the Gunners this past season, appearing 38 times across all competitions, with large sections of the club’s fanbase having subsequently called for the 34-time capped international to be handed a new contract (his current deal expires this summer).
Impasse
But, while most had initially viewed the contract talks between Arsenal and Wilshere as a mere formality, the reality over the last few months has proven to be far more complicated.
Wilshere was said to have been left angered by the lowly wages on offer as part of the new deal tabled by the Gunners earlier this year, with the Englishman having admitted back in March that ‘things had changed’ with regards to his place at the club.
‘Positive’
Nevertheless, speaking in a press conference last month, departing Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger revealed that he was ‘positive’ regarding the chances of Wilshere putting pen to paper on a new contract with the club.
On the move?
But, as per the latest reports spreading across social media this afternoon, it is now surprisingly being claimed that Wilshere is in fact inching towards a move to Selhurst Park to link up with Crystal Palace.
The story, which first came to light this morning through a Polish Crystal Palace fan site, revealed that an individual who works at the training base in Malmo where the Eagles are due to travel next month was informed that Wilshere would be part of Roy Hodgson’s travelling squad.
The news has since led to a number of other sources insisting that Wilshere is indeed set to depart Arsenal imminently, with the English midfielder’s odds of joining Palace having dropped from 25/1 to just 4/1 with SkyBet over the last couple of hours.
Roy Hodgson is known to be a huge admirer of the talents of Wilshere, with the 26-year-old having also been heavily linked with a move to Selhurst Park last summer.
And, though this afternoon’s news is far from an official confirmation of his departure from the Emirates, growing sections of Arsenal’s fans are now in agreement that they have likely seen Wilshere line out in a Gunners’ jersey for the final time...continue
Inter Milan submit bid for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder
Inter Milan have submitted a 10m euro bid for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele following negotiations in London on Friday, according to FCInterNews.
Spurs are willing to sell the Belgian this summer given his age and injury record which has seen him become less effective in Mauricio Pochettino’s midfield.
Numerous Italian and Chinese clubs are targeting a move for Dembele who turns 31-years-old next month and whose contract with Tottenham expires next summer.

Inter Milan officials were in London on Friday to discuss a deal with Tottenham Hotspur for the transfer of midfielder Mousa Dembele.
The Italian club are understood to have offered 10m euros, whilst also offering the player a four-year contract.
According to Corriere Dello Sport, Tottenham are demanding a fee in the region of 30m euros – something they are refusing to adjust.
Dembele is unlikely to sign a new contract with Spurs given his demands and is set to be joined out the door by fellow countryman Toby Alderweireld.
The central-defender will leave the club this summer with Manchester United understood to be in negotiations over a deal.
“I’m committed to Spurs”
Speaking at the launch of the Spanish version of his new book, Mauricio Pochettino addressed the strong rumours suggesting that he could be the man to replace Zinedine Zidane who stepped down as manager of Real Madrid following the club’s third consecutive Champions League triumph.
During the launch, a large amount of focus was on whether Pochettino would return to Spains this summer to take charge of Los Blancos.
The general feel of Pochettino’s quotes is that he remains very much committed to Tottenham, although, in the future, a move to Real Madrid is something that would interest him – as to be expected...continue
Liverpool’s serious interest in Steven Bergwijn detailed in Netherlands, club officials sent repeatedly
Three English clubs are named as keen: Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham.
It’s Jurgen Klopp’s side who get the most words, with it being detailed just how closely the club are following Bergwijn. De Telegraaf say for interested sides it’s only really performances against other top Dutch clubs that matter, such as Ajax and Feyenoord.
Bergwijn has managed to impress in these games, but Liverpool have been sending an official to almost every match since the winter break anyway, not just concentrating on the bigger clashes.
As yet there’s been no approach to PSV so there’s no decision to make either for the Eredivisie side or the player. Even if that happens, De Telegraaf clearly believe there’s a chance the 20 year old winger will choose to continue in Dutch football for another year, continuing his development.
English clubs have been linked before and aside from naming interested sides, and detailing Liverpool’s trips, the Dutch newspaper don’t bring a great deal more on the matter...continue
Chelsea: Delay in Stamford Bridge plans will lead to squad investment, says former managing director Christian Purslow
The redeveloped Stamford Bridge will be Europe's most expensive stadium at £1bn
Chelsea's
decision to halt plans to redevelop Stamford Bridge will benefit the
team, says former managing director Christian Purslow.
Russian billionaire owner Roman Abramovich has put work on the 60,000-seat ground on hold after the estimated cost rose to £1bn and following delays to the renewal of his UK visa.
Abramovich has now reportedly "withdrawn" his visa application.
"I expect a very strong focus now on investing in the team," Purslow said.
Purslow
who left Chelsea at the end of the 2016-17 season, said the decision to
explore the redevelopment has always been "really marginal from an
economic standpoint".
As well as the cost of the work increasing from £500m to £1bn, there have been delays including a dispute with a local family.
Speaking
to BBC Sport, Purslow added: "They have decided to bite the bullet and
say this is not the right time to pursue this project.
"I was not
surprised at all. Concentrate their resources on the playing side of
Chelsea and I think Chelsea fans will be delighted that that is the
priority for the foreseeable future."
Chelsea ended the Premier League season in fifth, 30 points behind champions Manchester City.
'A very smart business decision'
Chelsea had expected to be playing at Stamford Bridge until the end of the 2019-20The
current capacity of Stamford Bridge is just over 40,000, with Purslow
predicting the extra 20,000 seats would mean a further £40-50m per year
in revenue.
However, he says what they miss out on in extra revenue will be dwarfed by television and prize money.
In February, the rights to show Premier League games from 2019-2022 were sold for £4.464bn - with two live packages still to be sold.
"A
£1bn real estate project in central London, given everything that is
happening in the economy and the political situation, does not feel a
good use of Roman's capital," Purslow said.
"I do not think in
any way, shape or form you can leap from that and conclude that, for
example, that investment and focus on the team will be reduced."
'It is a slight worry' - analysis
Former Chelsea forward Pat Nevin on BBC Radio 5live
If
you look around the rest of the Premier League, everyone else is
growing the size of their stadium. Arsenal, Manchester City and
Manchester United all have much bigger stadiums and you need that income
if you are going to make the sort of money to make you competitive.
Roman
Abramovich and Chelsea have made it clear that they are trying to live
within their means to some degree and they have done a decent job at
that.
So to do that, without depending on Abramovich, they have
to make sure they have a bigger stadium, and if they haven't got a
bigger stadium, it is going to be hard to compete.
It is a slight
worry, but I don't think it is the end of the club, and the plans are
on hold and not completely shelved for the long term...continue
Chelsea Transfer News: Club great makes major transfer claim ahead of turbulent summer
CHELSEA could lose Eden Hazard this summer and then struggle to find anyone to replace him.
GETTY Frank Sinclair believes Chelsea could lose Eden Hazard this summer
That’s according to former Blues star Frank Sinclair, who predicts a tricky transfer window is in store for the west Londoners. Chelsea finished fifth in the Premier League this season, missing out on Champions League football for next term. The
Stamford Bridge giants know that star man Hazard is once again
attracting admiring looks from Real Madrid and Sinclair fears he could
leave. He told Sportingbet: “I think for Hazard to be mentioned in the same category as Ronaldo or Messi, he would have to move to a club like Real Madrid. "Chelsea
will be doing everything they can to keep him there for at least
another year, but Real Madrid were linked heavily last year and could
come back in for him again. "With [Gareth] Bale
potentially leaving Madrid, I think Real will have a list of players
that they will want to replace him with, and I believe that Hazard will

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino remains coy about rumours linking him to Real Madrid job
Madrid: Tottenham
manager Mauricio Pochettino responded on Friday to speculation that he
is Real Madrid's favoured candidate to succeed Zinedine Zidane as coach
by saying: "What will be, will be."
Pochettino, speaking in Barcelona at the launch of the Spanish
version of his book "A Brave New World", said he was happy at the north
London club where he signed a new and improved contract last week.

"I have a five-year deal with Tottenham and I'm very happy at the

"We need to relax and take things as they come. After that we'll see what happens."
Zidane shocked Real by revealing he was leaving the club just days
after making history by winning a third successive Champions League
title.
Pochettino said he could understand the pressure that the Frenchman had been under.
"When a name is associated with Real Madrid, the expectations are
immense... Football throws up circumstances you don't expect and you
have to make the most of it each day.
"What will be, will be."
Spanish sports daily AS reported that Pochettino's new
